Come join our “family!”
Bock Marine has a faithful following of customers, local folks as well as waterway and world travelers who know they can depend on us. As one sailor described us, “very low key, but very, very professional.”

First class operation
First class operation. Fit us in last-minute with a smaller boat and made us feel equally as important to anyone with a larger boat. Professional, courteous, honest and reasonable. Highly recommend!
I have hauled my sailboat at this yard for 30 years
I have hauled my large sailboat at this outstanding yard for thirty years. This is a true family-run yard with expert supervision from Kenny and his son at every stage. Kenny Bock employs only the best workers and he treats them like family, so they thankfully stay with him seemingly forever. Everyone goes out of their way to help you in every respect, very personable and friendly service. The quality of their work is superb and the pricing is extremely reasonable. Most importantly, Kenny Bock can give you great advice on what is best for your boat, and he will insure that it is done timely and to perfection!
I would recommend Bock Marine to everyone
Bock Marine has always treated myself and my customers with respect and fairness. The entire staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. It is a pleasure going to this Marina. I would recommend Bock Marine to everyone.
This is the combination cruisers look for
This is the combination cruisers look for. A boatyard with professionals who can diagnose and fix anything, but one that will also allow you to do as much of your own work as possible while you are on the hard. We needed our shaft/coupling box adjusted, a new centerboard cable, rudder shaft repair, and a steering quadrant adjustment…The owner, Kenny, oversees and is directly involved in every job. He is honest and doesn’t bs his way around anything He has been doing boatwork for a long time and can quickly determine what steps need to be taken to address problems. His knowledgebank seems unlimited. One of the best things about the operation is the Ship’s Store…they have fasteners, varnishes and paints, hoses and clamps, zincs, thru-hulls, epoxies and glues, solvents, cleaners…basically anything you would find in a West Marine, and at a much lower cost.
We lost our transmission coming into Beaufort Inlet and had repairs done while in the water. Since there was still some uncertainty as to why it happened, I called Kenny to have our boat hauled and inspected. After some questions on performance of the transmission, Kenny and John got to work and found out what I needed. New packing and engine/shaft alignment got us going better than when we bought the boat six years ago.
Great Family-Run Marina
Came to Bock for survey but have been here over a month refitting my 424 to electric propulsion. Bock is a very accommodating facility that can provide any service you need, but is also happy to have you do your own thing. Great lounge and courtesy car available for 2 hours at a time. Love this place.
Morehead City Pilots Association is happy to be part of the “Bock Marine Family”
In the mid-90’s, Morehead City Pilots started calling on Bock Marine for the hauling and repair of their pilot boats (Halmatic 44′ “Rough Point” and ex CG hull “Able”). We were quickly impressed with their knowledge, expertise, and their commitment to make sure our boats were properly cared for. The family atmosphere that Carl and Kenny Bock instilled early on is still very evident today. Projects we have entrusted to Bock Marine include two repowers, several topside paint jobs, construction of a bow bumper system, plus our yearly maintenance. Morehead City Pilots Association is very happy to be a part of the “Bock Marine Family.”
We’ll recommend you to any others that may need any of your services.
Six months and two engine pulls after we had expected to have our boat ‘Ecliptic’ hauled at your yard, we arrived at your dock at 2:15 am on Saturday, October 22. After two long and hard days in your yard, we were on our way first thing on Monday, October 24, having done more than we expected to get done and feeling much better about our boat.
“Although your yard had come highly recommended, our only other yard experience had given us reason to question the kind of attitude and service that we could expect: We know that a 21-year-old, 26-foot sailboat with owners who plan to do their own work doesn’t light up the eyes of a yard owner.
“Your responsiveness to our requests, the assistance and advice that you offered, and the quality of your work and that of your staff were such that it seemed that you were intent upon totally dismissing our doubts. Thank you both for your efforts in our behalf. Rest assured that your yard is where we’ll haul in the future, and that, unless you request that we not, we’ll recommend you to any others that may need any of your services.
Friendly, welcoming and professional
Since the Fandango is being picked up today, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your excellent and professional service! We are thankful that Beaufort Towing had the good judgment to tow us to your boatyard.
“Our stay with you in August turned a difficult situation into a very pleasant visit. Everyone in the yard and office that we had any contact with was friendly, welcoming and professional as well as extremely knowledgeable and skilled. We quickly developed respect and complete trust in your company.
“It’s difficult to find a good working boatyard nowadays, and an excellent one, like Bock, is very rare. How we’d love to have a duplicate of Bock Marine here in Maine!
“We’ll be highly recommending Bock Marine to anyone we know who is planning to travel the IC.
I will always recommend Bock Marine as the best yard anywhere.
I want to thank you again for all the help and excellent repairs on my old boat. She is weathered and aged, but still very important to me, and this being my first experience at bottom maintenance I really didn’t know what to expect, but with your guidance and very capable staff she is returned to the water in better shape than the boat has seen in many, many years.
“I am proud to call the yard men my friends. You are very lucky to have employed some of the hardest working men I’ve ever seen. The quality of repairs is beyond expectation. I will always recommend Bock Marine as the best yard anywhere.
A terrific reputation in the cruising community
Thanks to the yard staff who on many occasions demonstrated a cheerful professionalism for which we are grateful. We came to Bock Marine in the first instance because of your terrific reputation in the cruising community and our experience over the two years we were there confirmed every bit of it.
I really appreciate the kindness and professionalism that you extended me.
I really appreciate the kindness and professionalism that you extended me during the transition of SPARROW to me. If there were more people like you in this country it would be a much better place to live and we would not have all the problems that we have in today’s society.
I found your staff competent and very helpful.
I just wanted to say how much we appreciated your efforts while ‘on the hill’ at Bock’s. Although this was our first experience with a yard, I found your staff competent and very helpful. Your reputation continues and I will pass on my positive opinion of your operation to all that ask.
Your marina is one of the last truly wonderful places to bring a vessel.
“I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your efforts in dealing with us and our sailboat. There is no other marina in the world that I would rather have brought our sailboat to and that is due in large part to the people who run it.
“I hope that you are favorably inclined to an increase in business because I have spread word across the majority of the northeastern areas of the US that your marina is one of the last truly wonderful places to bring a vessel.
This is the only boat yard we ever want to haul out our sailing ship!
“We run our own charter business in the Bahamas and every three years when it is time to haul out we make a 4 to 5 day ocean sail to get to Bock Marine. And when we are finished hauling out we head out to sea for 5 days to get us back to the Bahamas for our charters. So all in all we make a 10 day ocean sail to haul out at Bock Marine. This is our 4th haul out here and we don’t want to go any where else!
“This boat yard offers a high level of professionalism for all your haul out and boating needs. It is family owned and run and while you are here you are treated as part of the family! We were here over Christmas, so Kenny and Nancy Bock took everyone that was in the boat yard, the employees, and their families out to a nice dinner and then Christmas musical. We always live aboard while we haul out. They have nice clean restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and plenty of electricity and water for each boat in the yard. The boat yard is always clean and organized. As much work as a haul out can be, we always enjoy our time here.
“They also treat their employees with dignity. One of the employees, Randy, just celebrated his 25th year here at Bock. And Dale will celebrate his 25th anniversary next year. Now that is saying something!! The whole crew will work hard for you and help you in any way they can. We love these guys!
“We have lived aboard a sailboat full time for the past 28 years. We write this testimonial to help other boaters. Bock Marine is simply the BEST!
“Thank you to Kenny and Nancy Bock and the whole Bock Marine Crew (including Mamma Kitty – the boat yard cat) for making another haul out a real pleasure. We will see you all again in 3 years! Until then – wishing you all the very BEST!”
